CUSAT CAT 2019: CUSAT CAT (Common Admission Test) is organized by Cochin Universtiy of Science and Technology, Kerala. The test is conducted for admission to B.Tech, B.Com LLB, BBA LLB, MCA/ MCA (Lateral Entry), MA, MIP-PhD, LLM-PhD MVoc, MFSc, LLB, MSc (Marine, Computer Science, Photonics) etc. The university also conducts LET (Lateral Entry Test) and DAT (Department Admission Test). CUSAT CAT 2019 Application Form

The application form will be submitted in online mode only. The conducting body will release the application form on the official website from the third week of January 2019. The application process will be completed in two stages. Candidates firstly have to complete the registration process and then fill the application form. Candidates have to fill personal and academic details on the application form. The application form process will not be completed without the submission of application fee. Check the details of.   • The application fee can be paid through SBI or SBT challan generated online. OR
  • Candidates can use credit card/ debit card or internet banking for the payment of the application fee.

The application fee for postdoctoral, M.Phil, PhD, Diploma and Certificate programs will be paid in the concerned department in the form of Demanding Draft (DD) from SBI or SBTrawn in favour of The Registrar, CUSAT payable at Ernakulam.


CUSAT CAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for different courses are as follows:

B.Tech/ M.Sc ( Integrated 5 years in Photonics)

  • Candidates should have passed 12th or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
  • Candidates should have secured at least 50% marks individually in Mathematics and PCM putting together in the qualifying exam.

B.Tech (Marine Engineering)

  • Candidates should have passed 12th or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English as compulsory subjects.
  • Candidates should have secured 60% marks in English and aggregate 50% marks in PCM.
  • Candidates should not be more than 25 years of age as on 1st Sep 2019.
  • Vocational/ Diploma holder candidates are not eligible for the course.

BBA/ LLB (Hons)/ B.Com LLB (Hons)

  • Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • For science group and other streams students, the minimum marks required are 60% and 50% respectively in the qualifying exam.
  • Candidates age should not be more than 20 years as on 1st July 2019 ( for SC/ ST and OBC candidates the maximum age is 22 years).


  • Candidates should be a graduate in science stream with Mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognized university. OR
  • Candidates should be a graduate in IT/ Electronics/ Computer Applications/ Computer Science/ Engineering/ Technology from a recognized university.
  • Candidates should have secured 55% marks (excluding language and humanity subjects) in the qualifying exam.

M Voc (Technology & Management Consulting)

  • Candidates should have passed engineering bachelor’s degree from a recognized education board. OR
  • Candidates should have passed MBA or B.Voc degree from in the relevant subjects.
  • Also, candidates should have secured at least 60% marks on the qualifying exam.


  • Candidates should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Candidates should have secured at least 40% marks (35% for SC/ ST) in the qualifying exam.
  • Those who are appearing in qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.


  • Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized university.
  • Candidates should have secured at least 45% marks on the qualifying exam.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Syllabus

The syllabus for the different course is different B.Tech course question paper will comprise of 11th and 12th based Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry questions. PG courses question paper will comprise of bachelor’s degree level questions related to the subject of the exam. Also, check JEE Main details.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is as follows:

  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be conducted in online mode (i.e., Computer Based Test).
  • Time Duration: Total time duration is 3 hours.
  • Questions’ Type:  Objective type questions will be asked in the exam.
  • Total Questions: Each course (question paper) has different number of questions.
  • Subjects: The subjects are different for different courses.
  • Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

CUSAT CAT 2019 Admit Card

The admit cards of the candidates will be uploaded to the official website. The authority will upload the same on the official website from the third week of April 2019. Candidates could downlaod admit card by entering application number. CUSAT CAT 2019 Result

The authority will release the result of the exam in the last week of May 2019. Candidates could check the result with the help of roll number. Candidates will be able to check the marks secured by them in the exam. CUSAT CAT 2019 Counselling

The counselling will be conducted for allotment of the seat. The candidates will be invited for the counselling round on the basis of rank obtained by them. The detailed counselling scheduled will be published on the official website. Candidates have to select the choices of courses in the counselling round. How to Apply CUSAT CAT 2019

The application process will be filled in two steps:


Candidates, first of all, have to fill the registration form for getting User ID and Password. Candidates have to click on New User option. In the registration, form candidates have to fill basic personal details and e-mail address, mobile number and other details. The User ID and Password will be sent to candidates e-mail id or mobile phone. Now the candidates have to fill the application form.

Application Form:

  • Log on to the official website and click on the Apply Online link. 
  • The application form will appear on the screen.
  • Candidates now, have to fill name, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name and other personal and academic details in the application form.
  • After that, candidates have to upload scanned copies of passport size photograph and signature with the application form.
  • In the end, candidates have to pay the application fee.
  • For the payment of the application fee candidates could either generate SBI Challan or pay the application fee through credit card/ debit card or internet banking.
  • Candidates should get the print out of the application form for further reference.
